Why Not Save Money?

The news update survey is, as usual, below. However, one of the topics touched on there does merit highlighting - and that's 'helping yourself'.

These are tough economic times - and that hits everyone, private individuals, businesses and organisations. One of the things we see and hear time and time again in the general media is that fighting climate change has dropped off the agenda because it's too expensive, or because we're in a recession, or because we're having to tighten our belts. To put it bluntly, we are SICK OF THIS RUBBISH.

For private individuals, businesses and organisations, cutting CO2 emissions means cutting back on fuel usage / being more fuel efficient. Fuel costs are soaring - one of the big problems in this recessionary era. So, duh, cutting back on fuel usage / being more fuel efficient is A GOOD THING to do for the climate, and totally regardless of any climate-related concerns, a good thing to do to help balance the books. It really is that simple.

If we ever needed proof that the general media serve the public badly, here it is.
